    Photon-X is an imaging technology company focused on Spatial Phase Imaging (SPI) research and core products. 

    Formed in 1999 as a company solely focused on research and development of optical products, services and solutions, Photon-X staff consists of technologists and engineers providing technical expertise in a variety of areas including optics, imaging, sensors, photonics, physics and computer science.

    Photon-X has experience designing and developing complex electro-optical systems, state-of-the-art sensors, photonics and 3D image processing applications within both the military and commercial sectors.

    Throughout it's history, Photon-X has completed numerous small business government contracts as the prime contractor with a GSA satisfaction rating of 93%.

    Photon-X currently has many successful Phase II SBIR contracts with the U.S. government.

Company Management

Blair Barbour: President - CEO

With an MS in Electro-Optical Engineering from the University of Dayton, a BS in Engineering Physics from Marshall University, numerous patents and over 30 technical publications, Blair has over 25 years experience in development of this enabling optical technology.



Blair was presented with the “National Defense Industrial Association Materiel Acquisition/Technology Award” in recognition of his accomplishments in furthering sensor technology in the area of Passive Spatial Phase Imaging Techniques.

Scott Ackerson: Vice President

With an MS in Management of Technology from Wharton and SEAS at the University of Pennsylvania, and with a BS in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, Scott has been instrumental in building several 3D imaging companies, including SpatialMetriX (SMX) Corporation, Dimensional Photonics and FocalPoint Metrology.
